Legislative Day - 2011 - March 9

The Richardson Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee invites you to join them in Austin for Richardson Telecom Corridor Legislative Day on March 8 & 9, 2011.  Legislative Day provides participants the opportunity to visit the state capitol and better understand the legislative process.  Individuals will have the opportunity to network with community leaders, hear from our local representatives and key state officials, attend committee meetings and visit various legislators.  Whether you are heavily involved in politics or just have a basic understanding, Legislative Day is a great opportunity to represent our community in Austin.

7:30 a.m. Breakfast Reception - Hosted by Representatives Jerry Madden and Angie Chen Button; Back Hall of the House Chamber, State Capitol

 

8:30 a.m. Tour of Speaker of the House Private Quarters

 

8:45 a.m. Group Photo - Location To Be Announced

 

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon - Group Legislator Visits; Visit House and Senate Chambers

 

12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m. - Delegate Lunch - Member's Lounge E2.1002

Hope Andrade, Secretary of State is the featured speaker.  Also, Steven Polunsky, Director of the Senate Business and Commerce Committtee will discuss upcoming legislation

 

2:00 p.m. - Individual Visits to Legislators; tours, etc.

 

Other activities include group photo in the capitol rotunda, visiting a senate and house session, attending committee meetings, legislator visits, tour of the capitol building and a tour of the state history museum.
