Title: Medicare Changes
Featured Speaker: Karen Travit, Senior Field Advocate - Blue Cross and Blue Shield
Karen Travit has been with Blue Cross and Blue Shield
of Texas (BCBSTX) since 2010. She has more than 15 years’
experience in the Health Insurance industry, with a concentration
in Disability and Medicare areas of health care. Karen is a Senior Think BlueSM Specialist
for BCBSTX. The Think Blue Team works closely with community groups, health care
professionals, faith-based organizations and others to set up free information sessions
to explain health insurance in an easy-to-understand terms.
Karen has a bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing from Marymount College.
She taught elementary and high school students before entering the corporate world.
Karen has been in the telecommunication industry as a project manager and also in
finance as an account manager. She is active in a variety of civic and cultural organizations
including the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Continental Societies Inc., The Ms. Texas Senior
America Pageant and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Karen is dedicated to
educating the community on Medicare and health insurance.
