Description

Small business stimulus package opportunities

The Richardson Chamber Women in Leadership Women4Women peer-mentoring program is designed to provide cross-generational professional support to women at every stage of their career.

We find ourselves in a strange time and information is coming at us fast, and it's changing every day.  If you're an owner or part of a small business, this situation and the legislation being developed will have have a direct impact on how you can stay in business today and going forward. Join this small group discussion with Marta Frey, director of the Collin SBDC to learn the latest updates to the federal small business loan and grant programs being offered.  You'll have a chance to ask questions, and talk with other small business owners to find out what they are doing to help themselves.

This is a small-group discussion format and spots are limited.

About the speaker:
Marta Gómez Frey has spent more than half of her professional life helping small businesses and entrepreneurs succeed. She joined the Collin SBDC as a small business consultant in 2000, after 12 years at Hector Gómez Engineers, Inc., a family business that had benefited from small business support programs like the SBDC. She accepted a position at the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in 2002, where she developed education and recognition programs dedicated to small businesses. She returned to Collin SBDC in 2006 and continues to consult with small businesses in addition to her economic development duties. Under her leadership, the Collin SBDC was named the Small Business Development Center of the Year in the North Texas Region. In the past five years alone, the center has helped clients access more than $90 million in capital, create 1,800 new jobs and helped increase sales by more than $50 million. Her desire to help others doesn’t end at the center’s doorstep, however. Her passion for community involvement and servant leadership extend to civic and governmental organizations including the City of Richardson City Council, City Plan Commission and Charter Review Commission, Network of Community Ministries Board, the Leadership Richardson Alumni Association Board, and the Jesuit Ursuline Ranger Band Boosters.
