Virtually sold-out the past nine seasons, the Plano Symphony presents an eight concert subscription season featuring a professional orchestra led by Music Director, Hector Guzman. Six of these performances are held at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. The Plano Symphony also offers a four-concert Family Symphony Sunday Series. In addition, the Symphony’s concerts for area 4th and 5th graders bring over 12,000 children to the Eisemann Center annually for exceptional interactive concerts.
Building from three concerts in 1983-84, gradual expansion has led to over 20 performances and over 100 solo, ensemble, and educational appearances in 2014-15. The Symphony has been able to build artistic excellence while maintaining fiscal responsibility. The Symphony is a frequent collaborator with other area groups such as Chamberlain Ballet, Men of Note, Plano Civic Chorus and Younger Generation Chorus.
The Symphony Guild, Advisory Council, Debutante Program, and Applause teens bring over 200 volunteers contributing professional services as well as hands-on-project work to help the Board and staff achieve the Association’s goals.
The Plano Symphony is committed to maintaining its program services and its reputation of artistic excellence.
